SOLAS Lifebuoy Light NZ — LED Model FZQD-1 | EC MED Certified

A SOLAS-compliant lifebuoy light is a mandatory requirement on all surveyed commercial vessels — at night or in low visibility conditions, a flashing light on a deployed lifebuoy is what guides a rescue team to a person in the water. This water-activated LED lifebuoy light activates automatically on contact with water, flashing at 57 flashes per minute to maximise visibility to rescue vessels and crew.

Why water-activated?
In a man-overboard emergency there’s no time to manually activate equipment. Water activation means the moment the lifebuoy hits the water, the light is already flashing — no crew intervention required. Critical for night rescues and low-visibility conditions.
