Why correct lashing matters:
Your liferaft canister must be secured to the vessel but releasable instantly in an emergency — either manually via the snap shackle or automatically via an HRU when the vessel sinks below 1.5–4 metres. A correct lashing setup is checked by maritime surveyors during vessel inspections.
