Why hot dip galvanized over paint-ready steel?
Hot dip galvanizing bonds a protective zinc coating to the steel at a molecular level — far more durable than surface paint in a saltwater marine environment. A hot dip galvanized cradle will outlast painted alternatives significantly on deck without rusting, blistering, or requiring re-coating. If you’re mounting permanently on a commercial vessel or offshore yacht, galvanized is the right choice.
