SOLAS Lifejacket Light NZ — LED Model FZYD-V | MED Certified | Water Activated

A SOLAS-compliant lifejacket light is a mandatory fitting on all SOLAS-approved lifejackets for commercial vessels — and for offshore recreational sailors, it’s the piece of safety equipment that makes you visible to rescue services at night or in low-visibility conditions. This water-activated LED lifejacket light switches on the moment it contacts water, flashing continuously for a minimum of 12 hours without any crew intervention required.

Why water-activated with an off switch?
Two features that matter in practice. Water activation means the light is on before anyone has time to think — critical in a sudden capsize or man-overboard situation. The off function means crew can test the light during drills or before departure without burning through battery life or triggering a false activation.

• Replace every 5 years or as required by your vessel’s survey schedule
• Test regularly using the off function — no battery drain during testing
